Swamp Thing
While working at a secret government laboratory in a Louisiana swamp, Dr. Alec Holland develops a "bio-restorative" chemical formula. He is approached by a criminal organization called the Conclave, but rejects their offer to sell the formula. In retaliation, the criminals blow up Holland's lab. In the explosion, Holland is saturated by the "bio-restorative" chemical, bursts into flame and plunges into the swamp.The formula, together with the primordial swamp waters, merge with Holland's corpse, and the Swamp Thing rises from the muck. After learning that the Conclave has murdered Holland's wife, the Swamp Thing takes vengeance on the criminals. The creature then wanders the world, battling evil and supernatural foes including the science/magic of Anton Arcane.
