John Jameson, astronaut and son of J. Jonah Jameson, finds a strange, ruby-like rock while on the moon. Jameson takes it back to Earth as one of his selenological samples. He becomes obsessed with it, stealing it from NASA so he can wear it on a chain around his neck. Jameson has it on when the next full Moon rises, and turns into a werewolf. In the process of his transformation, the stone is permanently fused with his body. As Man-Wolf, he battles Spiderman and other superheroes. Later, he learns of the source of the stone and is finally cured through separation from it.
